Haiti continues to face serious challenges that affect everyday life for families and communities. Ongoing political instability, violence, and disruptions in transportation have made it harder for food, water, medical supplies, and other basic necessities to reach many areas. In some communities, essential goods are difficult to find and increasingly expensive, placing basic items such as rice, beans, cooking oil, and flour beyond the reach of many families.
Hope for Haiti is a community of people who believe that meaningful service begins with relationships. Whether you have a few hours to give, a special talent to share, a heart for organizing, or a desire to support a mission trip, there is a place for you in the story of Hope for Haiti. We are always grateful to connect with like-minded people who want to use their time, abilities, relationships, and resources to help bring practical care and lasting hope to Haiti. There are many ways to support Hope for Haiti. Opportunities change throughout the year based on ministry needs, upcoming projects, available resources, and community events. The examples below are simply ways that people may be able to help; they are not daily requirements or a list of areas of need that are always open.
Ways You Can Get Involved
Volunteer Your Time
Volunteers help make the work of Hope for Haiti possible. You may be able to lend a hand with preparing food-packing events, sorting supplies, organizing eyeglasses or donated items, helping with transportation or logistics, assisting at events, preparing materials, sharing updates, or supporting behind-the-scenes ministry needs.
Every volunteer brings different skills and availability. Whether you enjoy hands-on work, planning, organizing, communicating, or simply helping where needed, your time can make a meaningful difference.
Participate in a Mission Trip
Mission trips provide an opportunity to serve alongside Haitian churches, pastors, workers, and communities. Depending on the needs of each trip, participants may assist with food distribution, eyeglass clinics, Vacation Bible School, construction or access projects, church activities, encouragement, and practical service.
Mission-trip participation is about more than traveling to Haiti. It is an opportunity to build relationships, learn from Haitian partners, serve with humility, and experience the faith, resilience, and hospitality of the communities Hope for Haiti has come to know over many years.
Future mission-trip opportunities, team needs, timing, and participation expectations will vary. Individuals who feel called to learn more are encouraged to stay connected with Hope for Haiti as future plans develop.
Help Coordinate Fundraising
Fundraising is one of the most practical ways to help sustain Hope for Haiti’s work throughout the year. Individuals, families, churches, schools, businesses, and community groups can help organize efforts that raise awareness and support for Food, Access, Vision, and other identified ministry needs.
You may be able to help coordinate a fundraiser, host a small gathering, plan a benefit event, share the ministry’s story with your church or organization, connect Hope for Haiti with potential supporters, or help promote a current giving opportunity. A successful fundraiser does not have to be large. It begins with people who care enough to invite others into the work.
Organize a Collection Drive
Collection drives can be a meaningful way for groups to support practical ministry needs. Depending on current needs and travel logistics, supporters may be able to collect items such as eyeglasses, sunglasses, eye drops, school supplies, food-packing materials, hygiene items, or other approved supplies.
Because needs, shipping options, and travel arrangements can change, all collection-drive ideas should be coordinated with Hope for Haiti before items are purchased or gathered. This helps ensure that every contribution is useful, appropriate, and able to reach the people and programs it is intended to support.
Share Your Skills
Hope for Haiti welcomes people who want to use their personal or professional skills to help. Some people are gifted at organizing events, working with children, photography, writing, graphic design, accounting, social media, fundraising, construction, transportation, communication, or connecting with people in their church or community.
You do not need to be an expert or have a large amount of free time to make a difference. Sometimes the most valuable contribution is offering a skill, a connection, an idea, or a willingness to help with a need when it arises.
Give Financial Support
Financial gifts help Hope for Haiti respond to locally identified needs and continue long-standing relationships with Haitian churches and communities. Donations may support food assistance, vision care, community-access projects, church partnerships, ministry supplies, local workers, and future mission efforts.
